1] Employee's living beyond their means.
2] Employee's having visible financial difficulties.
3] Employee's having an unusually close association with vendors & customers.
4] An employee that displays control issues, will not take sick or holiday leave or is unwilling to share duties.
5] An employee that is experiencing family problems or divorce.
6] An employee who has a wheeler - dealer attitude.
In 85% of cases, the perpetrator displays one of the above red flags and in 50% of cases, the perpetrator displays multiple red flags. Recognising these red flags helps businesses and organisations detect fraud and mitigate losses.
